FERRET
The black-footed Ferret is a small carnivorous ferret species native to North America. It is also the most endangered mammal in North America.
By 1987 the species was extinct in the wild due to habitat loss of prairie grasslands, disease and the poisoning of their food source, prairie dogs. Recently re-introduced into the wild thanks to successful captive breeding program

A not for profit organisation dedicated to the preservation of the species. Donation money goes directly to the black-footed ferret recovery efforts, such as identification microchips for re-introduction, relocation and recovery.

The black - footed ferret program was created in 1996 to help co-ordinate the various parties contributing their expertise and resources to the recovery of this endangered animal.
